CHC30208 – Certificate III in Aged Care

Qualification Outline

This qualification (from the CHC08 Training Package) encompasses both community and residential care. Community care includes a range of services supporting people in home and community based settings. Residential care includes high care (nursing home), low care (hostel) and private retirement villages.
To be a care worker you will be interested in and comfortable working with older people in their various environments. Your role involves enabling the client and their carer to maintain maximum independence.

Specifically the role includes:

  • Providing personal care – showering, dressing, feeding etc
  • Providing social support – community visiting, banking, shopping etc
  • Providing leisure and lifestyle programs
  • Participating in assessment processes for clients.
