This qualification reflects the role of allied health assistants who provide assistance to allied health professionals under predetermined guidelines. Depending on the setting, work may include following treatment plans for therapeutic interventions and/or conducting programs under the regular direct, indirect or remote supervision of an allied health professional.
Students who enrol* in Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance must successfully complete all of the units as listed in the Units of Study index as well as all placement requirements to be awarded this qualification.

During the course, students complete 80 hours of clinical placement to practice their skills under supervision in an allied health setting. Placement will help students to develop and consolidate skills and knowledge in a clinical environment. Placement also allows students to become familiar with employer expectations and broaden industry understanding.
100% attendance of placement is required.
A current First Aid certificate is required prior to placement. Students will also need a current Police Check, Working with Children Check and an updated immunisation record.
This placement will be offered at Upper Murray Health & Community Services (UMHCS) in Corryong, Victoria or with an alternative provider, depending on placement availability.
The Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance consists of 11 units: 8 compulsory core units and 3 elective units.
